Aftermarket side: Matched twin-pin / side-lock systems at lower Ex-Works cost, with Rockwell tip-face bands (48–52 HRC) and lot trace under ISO 9001 — useful when downtime cost exceeds brand-label premium on mass earthworks fleets.
ESCO positions as OEM-compatible: pin Ø and ear width are gauged against carrier class, but final fitment still requires serial-plate confirmation before crate seal.
Chasing tip face above ~52 HRC on high-silica quarry feed can shorten abrasive wear, yet brittle tips crack when breakout force spikes in laminated rock.
